Kiwa Inspecta Technology AB

Kiwa Inspecta provides companies in more than 40 countries independent inspection, certification, testing, analysis and advisory services, delivers technical assistance to the nuclear power industry, conventional energy, renewables, process and chemical industry, mining, transportation and manufacturing industry. Kiwa Inspecta Technology AB is a subsidiary of the Kiwa Inspecta group with focus on analysis, advisory services and contract research and development. KIWA’s personnel have long experience and are experts in the areas: structural mechanics, fracture mechanics, fatigue, materials and welding technology, degradation mechanisms, residual stress analysis, inspections- and maintenance techniques, probabilistic methodology, risk and reliability analysis, and project risk management. Examples of equipment we assess include pressure equipment, heaters, piping, cranes and lifting devices, steel and concrete structures.

Kiwa Inspecta’s knowledge and experience within method development for deterministic and probabilistic fracture assessments are of high relevance for the APAL project. Kiwa Inspecta will be the leader of Work Package 4 (the goal is to determine the impact of LTO improvements and TH uncertainties on the probabilistic RPV integrity assessments) and will contribute by knowledge from experienced personnel for analyses and assessments within WP1, WP2, WP3, WP4 and WP5. The goal of the work in WP3 and WP4, that are strongly linked to each other, is to determine the impact of LTO improvements and TH uncertainties on the deterministic and probabilistic RPV integrity assessments. Kiwa Inspecta’s long experience within deterministic and probabilistic fracture mechanics will give important contributions to WP3 and WP4. They will also assist in the determination of margin related to uncertainties in TH data and assess the overall scatter of the whole probabilistic assessment of RPV integrity.
